What Nigerians, World at Large Must Know about Lance Corporal Martins’ Video Pt1


It is no longer news that Lance Corporal Martins, a serving Nigerian soldier who was arrested for making a video where he exposed some of the rottenness in the Nigerian army, and the nonchalant attitude the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, and other service chiefs in the country, has been transferred to Abuja.

According to Mrs. Victoria, the soldier's wife, she revealed on Wednesday that her husband had been transferred to somewhere in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Lance Corporal Martins was arrested in Sokoto few hours after he made the video public on social media. He was picked up by senior military officers, who said they were acting based on an "order from above.

In Mrs. Martins word: "They have transferred him from Sokoto to Abuja. They are on their way now," she said.



In the 12-minute video by the Martins, he began by reading from the Nigerian Army Constitutions, he therefore ascertains that he is in line with the Nigerian army constitution, and has not done anything wrong.

He went further to expressed his disappointments in the COAS, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai over the way he has been handling the affairs of the Nigerian army

Furthermore, Martins expressed his anger at the security chiefs especially Buratai, and Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, for not being committed to end the incessant killings of Nigerians.

He also revealed how the military authorities ordered the illegal detention of some soldiers who demanded better weapons and ammunition to combat Boko Haram and other terrorist groups in the country.



He stated that though he might be arrested and probably killed for the video, he is ready to sacrifice himself for the country to survive.

He called on all independent lawyers across Nigeria to come to his aid as he is ready to sue president Buhari and the Gen. Buratai to the world criminal court.

Fellow Nigerians, shall this brave young man be allowed to suffer for trying to defend our brothers, and the peace of our beloved nation Nigeria?

Nigerians, let us join our hands together and see that Martins is released and duly compensated.
